Led jointly by DHSS and Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, HA2030 sets a framework of health priorities for Alaska. Each priority has its own target for improvement to reach by 2030. The vision is “Healthy Alaskans in Healthy Communities” and the mission of the group is to provide a framework for health goals and to foster partnerships to optimize health for all Alaskans and their communities. This framework is based on the latest scientific evidence and input of Alaskans from communities across the state. Earlier this year, Healthy Alaskans completed a State Health Assessment and Alaska’s Community Capacity Review: 2019 Statewide Public Health System Assessment. Please read these documents and stay tuned for more. A press release will be issued by DHSS and ANTHC in mid-January, and the kick-off of the plan will be presented at the Alaska Health Summit, Jan. 21-23 in Anchorage.
Healthy Alaskans began in 2000, and is unique as the only state health improvement plan in the nation that is co-sponsored by the state and Tribal governments sharing in health improvement goals for all Alaskans. HA2030 is the third state health improvement plan by Healthy Alaskans.
