Find Free Print and Online Materials at Play Every Day

Pediatricians and providers who care for young children can find free educational materials for families through our Play Every Day campaign. These materials promote daily physical activity and choosing healthy drinks to help Alaska children avoid cavities, grow up at a healthy weight, and prevent weight-related diseases that can last a lifetime, like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and many types of cancers.
Go online to find materials and videos focused on physical activity and choosing healthy drinks instead of sugary drinks. Contact playeveryday@alaska.gov to request free print materials.

Leading Health Organizations Share New Recommendations for Serving Healthy Drinks to Young Kids

In September, leaders from four national health and nutritional organizations shared consistent recommendations for serving the healthiest drinks to young children. These organizations include the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Heart Association, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. They included breast milk, infant formula, water, and plain milk as part of a new set of comprehensive beverage recommendations for children through age 5. These guidelines — called “Healthy Drinks. Healthy Kids.” — align with Play Every Day’s healthy drinks messages.
